The Used @ The Filmore in CLT 10/2/2024

Let’s hop into our Deloren and set the time circuits for the early 2000s. This is where I was transported back to when The Used hit the stage recently in Charlotte, North Carolina, at The Filmore. I remember when they hit the scene, it was like something we’d never seen before. Raw energy, heavy-hitting songs mixed with emo anthems. When Burt took the stage and the opening of “Pretty Handsome Awkward” played, the crowd exploded. The fellas may be a little older than when they first emerged, but the same amount of energy was supplied 20 years ago. Throughout their performance, they played numerous hits and crowd favorites: Buried Myself Alive, Let It Bleed, Taste of Ink, Bird and the Worm, and I Caught Fire. The setlist seemed geared towards veteran fans, and if so, we were all very appreciative. It was a night of Nosolgaia, dancing, and singing along at the top of your lungs. They ended the night with “A Box Full Of Sharp Objects,” and I think it tugged on the heartstrings of every last fan that was there.
