GREG PUCIATO AT THE UNDERGROUND

Photos and Writing by Kenny Brown

As someone who lives in constant heartbreak knowing I’ll likely never get the opportunity to see another Dillinger Escape Plan show, getting to catch Greg Puciato stop by Charlotte on his current tour felt like the next best thing. Puciato didn’t disappoint. His newer music feels a little darker and grungier, with what I feel like has an almost Alice In Chains vibe. Coincidentally, after tearing through most of his solo music he just happened to close out the night with a crushing cover of AIC’s “Them Bones”. Puciato’s newer music may not be as chaotic and wild as DEP, but he still brought that same fiery energy to the stage he always has.

Solo industrial artist Trace Amount opened the show, followed by Deaf Club‘s mix of hardcore punk meets metalcore thrash.
