Earlier this week, Mom Rock took the stage with force at TV Eye in NYC. Even on a cold Thursday night, the venue was filled with excited fans, many of whom were sporting the band’s merch in support. Clearly no strangers to the stage, Mom Rock immediately showed why they’re one of the hottest live acts out there the second they started playing. The room was quickly filled with wailing guitars backed by melodic vocals and an incredibly tight rhythm section. The set included an array of the band’s music, including Dishes, Makes You Happy (which the band jokingly asked the audience to dedicate to someone they hate), and even a cover from the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. The crowd of dedicated fans was eagerly singing along to almost every word throughout the entire set. The band matched their fans’ enthusiasm by playing with unbelievably dialed-in precision, all while running across the stage in their matching jumpsuits, and dancing with each other every chance they got.

Although we all easily could’ve watched Mom Rock play all night, the show eventually ended with the band playing the crowd-requested Flinching (My side of things) for their encore. After the band walked off stage, the feedback and white noise from their instruments stayed reverberating on the empty stage for a few minutes, marking a fitting end to the amazing assault of sound we all just thoroughly enjoyed.
Mom Rock are currently on the road until mid-February in support of the debut album, Now That’s What I Call Mom Rock. You can check out their remaining dates here. Trust me when I say this one band you don’t want to miss live!
