On September 17 2024, Christian Rock band Skillet began their co-headlining tour with Seether in Asheville NC, a popular artsy town nestled in the blue ridge mountains. With this being their first night of tour, I was able to go into the show with no prior details of what songs they would play. It is always exciting see a show and not have it spoiled before. As a fan of Skillet, I was not disappointed and I was excited to hear some new songs as they have a new record titled “Revolution” coming out on November 1st, 2024.
With this being a co-headlining show, I was unsure if Skillet or Seether were going to come on first; however, Skillet was first and began their set around 7:30. They played songs from six different albums, beginning with “Feel Invincible” and ending with “The Resistance”. They played their new single “Unpopular” which was definitely a hit. One of the most memorable things about the show was when singer John Cooper spent a few moments pointing out different posters and signs that he saw in the crowd, and reading them out loud. It was especially sweet to witness young kids getting their posters read out loud by the singer of the band.
