A night of high-energy performances and emotional depth unfolded as Downward, Scowl, Citizen, and Movements took the stage, each band bringing a unique intensity that kept the crowd engaged from start to finish. Charlotte’s The Fillmore was packed with fans and buzzing with anticipation for the show.

Downward

Downward opened the night with a solid set, bringing their shoegaze sound with a hazy yet driving energy that set the tone. Their performance gradually built momentum, preparing the audience for what was to come.

Scowl

Scowl took things up several notches with an electrifying performance that blended their hardcore roots with the 90s alt-rock elements they’ve been adding in. Guitarist Mike Bifolco and vocalist Kat Moss were a dynamic force, feeding off each other’s energy as the crowd erupted in response. From start to finish, their set was captivating—the kind of show that leaves a lasting impression.

Citizen

Next up, Citizen shifted the night’s vibe with their pop-punk-inflected post-hardcore sound, bringing a fresh contrast to Scowl’s heavier set. The band delivered an incredibly dynamic performance, with the audience showing their enthusiasm through a steady stream of crowd surfers. The only downside? The moody blue lighting for the first three songs might have looked great live, but it does make things tricky for photos.

Movements

Closing the night, Movements proved why they have such a dedicated following. Their emotionally charged lyrics resonated deeply with the crowd, and their live sound was impeccable. The lighting design elevated the performance, adding another layer to the experience. The cathartic ending with  Daylily had the entire room singing along, closing the night on a euphoric and emotional high.
