British metalcore heavyweights Bury Tomorrow and While She Sleeps brought their co-headlining U.S. tour to a close at The Underground in Charlotte on April 30, with support from rising Des Moines act Vended. Though the crowd was smaller than I would have expected for a tour finale, what they lacked in numbers they made up for with sheer enthusiasm, fueling a night of powerful performances.
Vended opened the show and arguably delivered the most electric set of the evening. Frontman Griffin Taylor commanded the stage with raw energy and a knack for working the crowd, setting the tone for the night. With their aggressive sound and unfiltered stage presence, Vended left a lasting impression—and may have even stolen the show.

Bury Tomorrow followed with a tightly executed and emotionally resonant set. Their on-stage energy was matched by strong crowd engagement, and vocalist Daniel Winter-Bates took a moment mid-set to share a heartfelt message about the importance of community and kindness—a reminder that felt especially timely in today’s social climate.

While She Sleeps closed out the night and the tour with a charged performance. The band fed off the crowd’s energy, creating a feedback loop of chaos and catharsis. Bassist Aaran McKenzie took things a step further by leaping into the crowd and playing from the middle of the pit, blurring the line between band and fans. The set ended on a high with “To The Flowers” and the anthemic “Sleeps Society,” bringing the tour to a memorable finish.

All in all, it was a fun, high-energy night that capped off a successful run for all three bands. Whether you came for the headliners or left a new fan of Vended, the show delivered on all fronts.
