Blessthefall at The Underground

The Gallows Tour stopped through Charlotte on 9.23, bringing Colorblind, Dark Divine, Miss May I, and Blessthefall to The Underground for a stacked night of metalcore.

Colorblind opened and got things moving early. Short set, plenty of energy, and they set the stage for what was coming.

Dark Divine followed, and this was my second time catching them this year. Seeing them in a smaller space like The Underground gave their set a different feel — tighter, more immediate, and a lot of fun to shoot. Their mix of heaviness and theatrical flair plays really well in a room that size, and the crowd was into it.

Miss May I came next and leaned right into their veteran status. They sounded sharp and kept the energy high from start to finish. The crowd response said it all — pits opened up, plenty of sing-alongs, and it felt like they were firing on all cylinders without overcomplicating things. An all around solid, commanding set.

Blessthefall closed the night, and they were in fine form. They sounded strong, the band looked like they were enjoying themselves on stage, and the crowd fed off it. A mix of big choruses, breakdowns, and up-close crowd work kept the room engaged, and overall it was a fun set to watch and shoot without feeling like they were leaning too hard on nostalgia.

Altogether, it was a well-paced show that made good use of the room. The Underground’s smaller size gave the whole night a more immediate energy, and each band brought something a little different to the table. No frills, no filler — just four solid sets in a room that thrives on this kind of show.
