Nashville artist, Mitchell Tenpenny arrived in Raleigh, North Carolina last week to bring his 2026 “Speed of Light Tour” to The Ritz. Following a career-defining year in 2025, Tenpenny has been releasing hit after hit song and touring non-stop across the United States. Known for catchy country hooks mixed with an alternative style of guitar riffs and melodies, Mitchell Tenpenny has quickly captured the attention of all types of music fans.
High energy is an understatement when attempting to describe the audience as they prepared for Tenpenny and his band to take the stage. Once the lights blacked-out and Mitchell was center-stage, him and the band launched into what can only be described as a “y’alternative” musical intro. The crowd roared to life cheering, dancing and bobbing their heads as the singer began to sing the hit, “To Us It Did” and then immediately followed with his newest single, “You Phase” which has been garnering plenty of well-deserved attention across social media platforms.
A memorable moment from the performance came when Tenpenny performed one of his top-charting songs, “Truth About You”. For start of the song, he began by singing the chorus and letting the audience join in before the entire band launched into the first hard-hitting notes of the intro. There’s no denying that every person in the venue was singing the words back, including yours truly. The pure and positive energy that emanated from Mitchel Tenpenny carried well into the crowd and created an overall spectacular concert experience for all those in attendance.
There is no doubt that Mitchel Tenpenny will soon be climbing in popularity even more with the “Speed of Light Tour” will continue at various times throughout 2026 in March, May, June and August and then a short stint on Hardy’s “Country Country Tour” as well in the summer.
