Anthony Green: This Tour Won’t Save You in Durham, NC

Whether you know him from Saosin, Circa Survive, L.S. Dunes or one of the many other music projects he has been involved in, there is no doubt that Anthony Green has become a household name amongst music fans across all genres. Known for his high vocal timbre, the singer brought his solo tour to a packed Motorco Music Hall in Durham, North Carolina on a stormy Friday evening. The tour, titled “This Tour Won’t Save You,” celebrates the over 20 year career of Green, not only featuring songs from his stockpile of solo albums, but hits from the aforementioned bands as well.

As the lights dimmed throughout the venue and Anthony Green took his place at center stage, the crowd inside the intimate venue roared to life. Green chose to begin the set nice and slow with the ambient “So It Goes” and “I Don’t Want to Die Tonight” before launching into the catchy upbeat, “Baby Girl” from the 2008 album, Avalon. Over the next 25 minutes, Green and his band performed some of his most popular songs before taking a pause in the performance for the everyone but the singer-songwriter to exit the stage. Next to the delight of everyone in attendance, Green performed the ever-popular Saosin song “Seven Years”. Every voice in the room sang along to this special song that so many have been jamming their entire lives. Once the song completed and the band rejoined him on, Anthony put down the guitar and continued delighting the crowd with an amazing performance of the Circa Survive hits, “Strange Terrain” and “Act Appalled”.

At the conclusion of these incredible songs, Anthony Green continued his set and giving his all in an energetic and talented performance. Green’s vocals are amazing to hear live and the connection he has to his fans is something all artists should strive to achieve. The “This Tour Won’t Save You” tour will be coming to an end soon as it closes out in the Northeastern United States, but there are plenty of opportunities to catch Anthony Green either performing solo or with Circa Survive this year!
