Fame On Fire took the stage first, and it was a whirlwind of their melodic mix of rock, hip-hop, and heavy rock music.
Metalcore band Currents played next, performing just as energetic of a set as their Blue Ridge Rock Festival performance that I shot just 2 days prior.
Following was Escape The Fate. I was particularly impressed by vocalist Craig Mabbitt’s interaction with the crowd. He almost immediately jumped out into the crowd and go towards the back so that they could enjoy the performance as well. He also helped many fans up onto the stage after crowd surfing, and then jumped out and crowd surfed himself at the end.
Finally, the main event — Ice Nine Kills. Their epic performance is more of a theatrical experience than a concert. They incorporate masks, costumes, acting, and a variety of images on screens into their stage performance. I didn’t enter the venue as an Ice Nine Kills fan, but I certainly left as one.
