Third Eye Blind and Taking Back Sunday “Summer Gods” concert at Champagne Manor

On Sunday July 24th 2022 Middle School dreams came true at Champagne Manor in Monroe, NC. Champagne Manor is known for their weddings, but this was their first EVER concert.

Champagne Manor held the “Summer Gods” concert series which included Hockey Dad, Taking Back Sunday, and Third Eye Blind. This concert series was what middle school dreams were made of. I had wanted to see Third Eye Blind as well as Taking Back Sunday since middle school, and in talking to others they said the same.

Taking Back Sunday and Third Eye Blind are both in the “Pop Punk” and “Emo” genre with some rock influences. Many of the fans have been loyal for many many years and were ecstatic to be able to see them in concert. Taking Back Sunday was energetic, had great stage presence, and got the audience pumped up and screaming for more. Third eye Blind sang many of their popular hits with fans singing and dancing to their middle school memories.

The venue itself did a fantastic job hosting their first concert. It almost felt like “A huge backyard pool party” as Taking Back Sunday referred to it. No matter where you sat on the lawn you had a great view of the stage with room to dance around and feel the nostalgia.

At the concert there was also a coffee truck called Third Eye Coffee. Being the coffee addicted person I am, I had to try it out for myself. Their coffee was simply delicious on such a hot evening and the staff were very kind and even let me snap some pictures of them hard work!

Both bands are touring together around the country for their “Summer Gods” concert series, and this concert proved that as the saying goes “Emo is not dead.” I truly cannot wait to see what other concerts are coming to Champagne Manor!
