Indie-Rock band, Mt. Joy, brought their Orange Blood Tour to The Van Buren in Phoenix, Arizona for an incredible night of singing and dancing. The breezy 5-piece band packed out the 1,800 capacity venue with a 16 song set list that was nothing short of incredible. Their stage presence was immaculate, despite small sound glitches, they all bounced around the stage with effortless energy and really made the crowd feel like one big music family.

Originated in Philadelphia, now based in Los Angeles, California the 5-piece band is made up of members Matt Quinn (vocals, guitar), Sam Cooper (guitar), Sotiris Eliopoulos (drums), Jackie Miclau (keyboards), and Michael Byrnes (bass). They’ve quickly made a name for themselves since their 2016 debut with lengthy tours across the country with big name bands like The Lumineers, The Shins, and The Head and the Heart.  The folk-rockers have shifted their sound over the course of their career, starting as a more acoustic-driven piece with self -titled album Mt. Joy, to their indie-rock adjacent follow up Rearrange Us.

From opening song to oncore,  Mt. Joy profusely pumped life into the night. Their fuzzy guitars, rollocking keys, and groovy rhythms made a wondrous and colorful arrangement that painted an oh-so elegant picture of the group. Throughout their performance, Mt. Joy exhibited expertise in not just auditory sensory, but also the visual. The perfectly timed lighting helped elevate each song in a way that captivated the crowd. Mt. Joy filled their short-but-sweet set with all of their hits, making sure the audience was on full alert throughout their time on stage, their set list is attached below!
