Korn and Evanescence, with special guests Dana Dentata and Palaye Royale, stopped by PNC Pavilion in Charlotte NC for a massive and unforgettable performance.
Dana Dentata, who recently released her debut album ‘Pantychrist’, opened up the evening. Outfitted as the demonic entity Pennywise, she slowly and slightly terrifyingly creeped onto the stage, entertaining the excited crowd. As her set moved on the outfit came off and the energy level exploded. Her performance felt as if she were purging inner demons, a release of pain, something I have a feeling most all of us can relate to.

Palaye Royale took the stage next with an electric set of fast paced rock and roll. It’s obvious they love what they’re doing as they frequently engaged the crowd while at the same time energetically leaping across the stage.

Long time favorites Evanescence was next. Evanescence is one of those bands that fans build deep emotional connections with and there was absolutely no denying how excited the crowd was when vocalist Amy Lee walked onto the stage. On a personal note, I found myself distracted from taking photos as I was singing along with the songs I love.

The legendary Korn took the stage last. The beginning of their set was a barrage of visuals to accompany the crushing openers Rotting in Vain and A.D.I.D.A.S due to a large screen wall encompassing the entirety of the stage. The wall was removed for the third song, Here to Stay, allowing the crowd to finally fully see the band. Korn continued on through the evening with a pounding set of fan favorites and a tremendous encore trio of Shoots and Ladders, Twist, and Freak on a Leash with guest vocals from Amy Lee.
