Parkway Drive, currently on the road touring for their newest release ‘Darker Still’, stopped by The Fillmore Charlotte along with Memphis May Fire and Currents.
Well before the doors even opened the excited fans for the sold-out show were wrapped around the block, with more people in line at the box office hoping to find some tickets.

Connecticut metalcore band Currents started off the night with a fiery set. I had never had the opportunity to see Currents live before so I was super excited, and they absolutely did not disappoint. They brought the perfect energy to get the packed crowd fired up.

Up next was Memphis May Fire, who I’ve had the privilege of seeing many times over the years. MMF could have easily been the headliner as they always put on a fantastic show. Vocalist Matty Mullins is a pro on the stage and interacts with the audience so well you can’t help just feeling happy to be there.

Finally, the band everyone was there to see, Parkway Drive, took the stage with a crushing set of fan favorites spanning their 20 year discography. Probably the most memorable moment, for the song “Boneyards” vocalist Winston McCall brought a young fan, probably around 8 or 9 years old, to the stage letting her dance to the song and even carrying her around on his back while he belted out the chorus. Parkway Drive is one of those bands that just doesn’t stop by Charlotte nearly as often as I’d like, they always put on such an amazing show.
