JAZZ, HARDCORE, AND MORE AT THE SPOKE EASY

Photos and Writing by Riley Ferrar

A Friday night at one of Charlotte’s largest and most well known all-ages diy spaces, The Spoke Easy, never fails to disappoint. A massive crowd showed out on March 24th for a mixed bill encompassing everything from jazz, to hardcore, to rap.

The night started off with a mellow vibe when jazz band Three Body Solution opened the gig. Next up was a full 180 with high energy noise/digital hardcore project Empty Island. After came the debut set from up and coming hardcore band Concrete Daisies featuring a gallon of grape juice and a crowd surfing baby doll. Keeping the energy going was rap group Ape Piss who played a wicked set despite having some PA issues. Next up were local sludge punk legends Wastoid with a rowdy set and lots of moshing. Heavy hitters Seneca Burns closed out the night
