MIXED GENRE SHOW AT BART’S MART

Photos and Writing by Bailey Wray

This was my first 18+ show, and it was a good one. The show was a good mix between Alternative/Grunge/Art Punk. The night started off with Charlotte locals Blight Moth. Their sound could be described as alternative rock. They put on an energetic show with great dynamics in their songwriting. This was my first time seeing them and I can say, I’m a fan.

Next up was Asheville band Roamck. They play good alternative/grunge. They were also very energetic. The lead singer had this really cool guitar pedal that made his guitar sound almost synthy. The band was really in sync and had really great on stage chemistry. They ended their set with taking off their instruments and banging them against each other.

After them was art punk duo ¿Watches? from Asheville. They were a guitar/drum duo. I’ve been a fan for a little while but this is the first time seeing them and they were crazy. They had so much energy. They had clever lyrics and tight music.

Local art punk band Ink Swell was last. This is my third time seeing them, and as always they were amazing. The whole band was super tight and had great energy, especially from the lead singer who did  some bastardized form of ballet on stage. Their album came out that night and they gave out free CDs of it. If you can, take a listen.

Overall it was a great show and definitely recommend all of the bands that played.
