Another night in Greenville, the Night School house event hosted by Cole Howls. Starting off the night was Mark Griffin with country tunes and harmonicas. Gilby sang his classic heartbreak song and finished the night with his cover of simple plan of Scooby Doo songs reminding us all of the class childhood show. Up next from Charlotte was Subvertigo, one of my favorites from the night, they write the noise of the night. Well known in the Greenville area and left-handed guitar player; alongside a full band for the first time. Bring in a rock to the room that had people dancing and jumping alongside Holden. Bluegill, the talented solo artist, was joined alongside drummer Nate for the first time as a band. The shoegaze sound filled the room; the drums complement his original sound. Versatility, the classic echoing sound of classic rock instrumentals, these guys always bring the funk to the room and never seem to leave up to be amazed. Ryanalligood and band ended the night with original songs and covers of Modern Baseball’s “Your Graduation” and Foo Fighter’s “Everlong” closing out the Night School’s first show of the year.
