CHARLOTTE, NC — As the ACCELERATOUR USA 2026 made its way through North Carolina this past Friday, the evening was set into motion by the Dallas-based alternative trio, little image. Comprising Jackson Simmons (vocals/guitar), Brandon Walters (bass/synth), and Troy Bruner (drums), the group brought their distinct brand of indie-dance and post-punk sensibilities to the Charlotte stage, offering a performance that felt both practiced and consistent with the high-energy reputation they’ve built over the last few years.

Rising from the underground scene to find a steady home on alternative radio charts, little image has mastered a sound that feels like a modern intersection of their influences—think the rhythmic complexity of Mutemath paired with the atmospheric textures of early Radiohead. From the moment the trio took the stage, it was clear they were there to deliver a professional and focused set, leaning heavily into the synth-driven indie pop that has become their calling card since their 2023 major-label debut.

The early portion of the set featured a steady flow of tracks that highlighted the band’s evolution from their high school beginnings to their current major-label polish. Songs like “Mr. Cynical” and “Novocaine” established a reliable groove, while the band’s top hit, “Out of My Mind,” provided a familiar anchor for the room. Simmons, Walters, and Bruner maintained a cohesive presence throughout, showcasing the technical precision that comes from years of playing together.

While the band’s setlist remained faithful to their established tour rotation, the inclusion of material from their 2026 album, Kill the Ghost, and the single “Real Estate,” offered a look at their continued dedication to the genre. The performance was a straightforward display of the trio’s ability to bridge the gap between dance-rock and self-reflective alternative music.

As the first few songs wrapped up and the night continued, little image left the stage having provided a solid, quintessential opening set for the Charlotte crowd. For those following the band’s trajectory from their debut Musings to their recent work, it was a performance that stayed true to their indie-pop roots and delivered exactly what fans have come to expect from their live show.
